PatiTools started for dogs and cats. We are opening partial coverage to more species, with honesty about the limits.

Important

Age, cost, weight, exercise and calendar are calibrated only for dog and cat. In Food there is a specific rabbit guide (hay/pellets/greens). Ferret and others: do not use dog/cat rations.

Rabbit

→Base diet: quality hay free-choice (80–90% of the diet).
→Leafy greens; fruit only as a very occasional treat.
→Never dog/cat food. Avoid seed mixes as the base.
→Need space to run and company (social animals).
→Ideal vet: exotic / lagomorph experience.

Ferret

→Strict carnivore: high animal protein, low fibre and carbs.
→Very sensitive to chocolate, xylitol, grapes and many human medicines.
→Need enrichment, play and often company.
→Species-specific vaccines and deworming; ask a mustelid-experienced vet.

Guinea pig & hamster

→Guinea pig: needs daily vitamin C in the diet (cannot synthesize it).
→Hay is also essential for guinea pigs.
→Hamster: omnivore; watch amounts and obesity.
→PatiTools does not yet include specific calculators for these; use specialist sources and an exotic vet.
