Editorial policy

PatiTools is a free reference for pet owners. This is how we decide what to publish and how we keep it honest.

Last updated: October 2026

Who writes it

Content is published by the PatiTools Editorial Team. We do not use invented veterinarians or credentials, and we do not present ourselves as a veterinary service.

How content is made

Formulas come from the sources listed on the methodology page and are covered by automated tests that check them against the published values. Texts are drafted and translated with the help of software and AI tools, then checked against those sources.

Veterinary review

The content has not yet been reviewed by a licensed veterinarian. We will say so on the page when that changes. Until then, treat PatiTools as general information and ask your vet about your animal.

Sources

We prefer veterinary guidelines and manuals, then peer-reviewed studies, then reputable poison-control organisations. When we cannot find a primary source, we say so instead of presenting a guess as fact.

Independence

No brand pays to appear in our results or to change what we say. If advertising is ever shown, it will be separate from the content and will not influence it.

Medical limits

PatiTools does not diagnose or prescribe. If you suspect poisoning or see warning signs, contact a vet or an emergency clinic immediately.

Updates and corrections

We date our main pages and fix errors as soon as we confirm them. If you find a mistake, write to us and tell us what is wrong and where; we will check it against the sources.
