Temperament and daily life
Friendly, independent and very energetic. Huskies were bred to run long distances and can be escape artists, vocal and tough to recall off-lead.
Health to keep an eye on
Commonly associated with certain eye conditions and hip problems and, because of their thick coat, difficulty in heat.
Coat and grooming
Dense double coat that sheds heavily, especially in seasonal blowouts.
Best suited to
Very active owners in a cool climate with secure fencing.
General tendencies only: every animal is an individual. Health notes are not a diagnosis; ask your vet about your own pet.
Care notes
High exercise needs; thick coat; not for hot climates only.
